Synergie Medication Collective is a new medication contracting organization founded by a group of Blue Cross and Blue Shield affiliated companies to serve both Blues and select independent health plans. Synergie is focused on improving affordability and access to costly medical benefit drugs - ones that are injected or infused by a health care professional in a clinical setting - for nearly 100 million Americans.

The VP of Rebate Invoicing and Audit is responsible for owning the development and execution of Synergie's rebate and manufacturer audit strategies. The position will champion the external vendor relationships to ensure accurate rebate and invoice processing to mitigate business risk regarding rebate payments and reporting. This position is responsible for the external vendor medical rebate invoicing, rebate reconciliations, and manufacturer rebate audit processes. This position is also responsible for creating and managing appropriate internal and Synergie Participant level dashboards related to rebate invoicing, supporting internal and external audits, leading a rebate invoicing team that interfaces with rebate invoicing vendors, and serving as the primary invoicing and manufacturer audit leader for Synergie.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own the strategic life-cycle associated with Synergie's invoicing and payments of manufacturer medical rebate contracts, rebate reconciliations, client-facing rebate reporting processes, and revenue/forecasting in collaboration with key internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all waypoints in the projects needed to implement any new processes.
  • Manage all aspects of invoicing vendor relationships including invoicing and reconciliation processes, invoicing escalations, pharmaceutical manufacturer audits, vendor contract compliance, and other services as contracted.
  • This will include representing Synergie in collaboration with the invoicing vendor for highly escalated or complex issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Synergie's rebate administration analysts (2 analysts initially).
  • Support Participant presentations that include rebate invoicing, payments, and manufacturer audits in collaboration with Synergie's Growth, Trade, and Finance teams.
  • In partnership with Head of Technology and Chief Analytics officer, develop invoicing payment systems and downstream supporting financial reports.
  • In partnership with the Chief Experience Officer and Head of Technology, develop reporting and dashboard strategies to support client rebates and audits.

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Health Care Management or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience related to medical rebates
  • 10 years of work experience in health insurance industry or PBM, with specific roles in operations, health care financial analysis, medical rebates, pharmaceutical trade relations and/or benefits consulting
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience and relevant experience planning and executing operational deliverables, audits, invoicing, payment reconciliation, and/or financial analyses
  • Knowledge of audit standards and methods applicable to rebates and invoicing
  • 7-10 years of project management experience
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in collaborative, cross functional work environment.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships at all levels within an organization.
  • Expert negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
